We are a commercial one service maintenance company in Ottawa. Since 2005, The owner Serge Richard has 20 years in the cleaning industry. Currently servicing numerous buildings and commercial spaces in the Ottawa-Carleton region from a variety of industries.

Dangers facing all Janitors

Janitorial workers are susceptible to a variety of dangers such as physical hazards, chemical hazards, and infectious agents generally present in the workplace and so we take safety seriously. Besides the acute injuries that can take place in the janitorial business there may also be long term damage if chemicals and cleaning products are not used properly.

Physical Hazards

Workers are properly trained to prevent physical hazards for the public and workers alike. Slips and falls, ergonomic injuries, accidents with machines, falls while climbing, and radiation exposure are all taken into consideration when training employees.

Infectious Hazards

We preach thorough hand-washing as it is the worker’s most basic and important form of protection. We also make sure workers are familiar with the institution’s infection control procedures and know the infection control officer to whom they can go with a question.

Chemical Hazards

ROSM minimizes potential chemical hazards by substituting less toxic products for traditional ones. Janitors wear gloves and goggles and ensure that work areas are supplied with fresh air. ROSM trains workers in the proper handling of chemicals to prevent eye and skin injuries, respiratory irritation and Injury, chemical spills. Workers are also trained in how to handle a situation in which one of these hazards takes place.

Employee Training

All janitors are trained in these topics; chemical hazard communication Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) interpretation, mixing incompatible ingredients (for example, bleach & ammonia), proper lifting and ergonomic precautions. We also provide extra training for janitorial workers for health care facilities

Supervision and Inspection

We continuously monitor the performance of our employees and provide them with feedback to help them improve their performance if necessary. We also conduct thorough inspections of the facility on a regular basis in order to maintain cleanliness at all times. Read more about our Quality Control measures.

A Quality Control

At ROSM, we understand the importance of formal quality control procedures in maintaining a first class service. We have systems in place that help ensure employees’ competence, equipment reliability, and suitability of supplies and chemicals for the particular cleaning service.

Our supervisors conduct regular and random quality inspections to ensure a high standard of service. These inspections are recorded to provide feedback to cleaners when necessary, and to ensure consistent service. We also have a cleaning logbook present at each facility where clients can provide written feedback at any time, as well as make special requests.

Quality Control Supervision

In order to ensure your location is maintained in a condition consistent with your requirements, we propose the following supervisory structure (Note: actual supervision will depend on the size of the premises & contract terms);

Level 1

Each client facility is assigned a working supervisor or a foreperson to directly supervise the cleaning and to report to the customer and his/her superior any cleaning or maintenance problems noted during the cleaning routine.

Level 2

Each location is visited regularly by an Area Supervisor. This person will liaise with the designated person of your organization to ensure you are completely satisfied with our service. He/she will also be responsible for having back up personnel available in case of sickness or emergency.

Level 3

The Account Representative will be responsible for the administration of the contract and will also be available to you should any questions arise.

We are not a Franchise

ROSM manages and monitors its own contracts. Because of this, we are able to provide quality cleaning service and maintain the highest quality control standards. We are not cleaning contract brokers, and we are not in the business of selling our contracts – we are in the business of delivering quality cleaning and service to all of our customers.

Fully Insured and Certified

Although every care is taken to ensure that no damage comes to our clients’ property, unforeseen accidents occasionally occur. For the protection of all parties involved, ROSM is sufficiently insured to cover the incidence of accidental damage or negligence from our employees.
